Overview of Everest Cho La and Renjo La Pass Trek

This Everest Cho La and Renjo La Pass Trek is a demanding way to experience the Everest region beyond the standard Base Camp route. You reach Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar, then cross two high Himalayan passes, Cho La at 5,420m and Renjo La at around 5,360m, before entering the quieter Gokyo and Thame valleys.

The route brings together many sides of the Khumbu. You will walk through forests and Sherpa villages around Namche and Tengboche, enter the high alpine landscape of Dingboche and Lobuche, cross glacial terrain around Cho La, spend time beside the turquoise Gokyo Lakes, and follow the old trading route through Thame.

It is a bit harder alternative to the classic Everest Base Camp trek, but that is what makes this Everest Cho La and Renjo La Pass Trek special.
You get Everest Base Camp, two high passes, Gokyo, Gokyo Ri, remote valleys, Sherpa culture, and a much bigger view of the Everest region in one journey.
