Ramesh Karki is a Senior Trekking Leader at Igloo Himalaya Treks, hailing from the rugged hills of Dhading, Nepal. With two decades (20 years) of hands-on Himalayan leadership experience, Ramesh is one of the most seasoned and versatile trail leaders in Nepal.
Certified by the Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management (NATHM) and formally trained in Advanced Trekking Leader Operations, Ramesh possesses comprehensive mastery across six major trekking regions of Nepal: Everest, Langtang, Kanchenjunga, Annapurna, Manaslu, and Makalu. Over his 20-year career, he has guided approximately 40 to 50+ expeditions in each of these regions, accumulating a remarkable record of over 250 completed mountain expeditions.
Ramesh’s favourite routes are the wilderness circuit of Manaslu and the remote, towering alpine sanctuary of Kanchenjunga Base Camp. His calm authority, profound terrain literacy, and instinct for group dynamics have helped hundreds of international trekkers cross high Himalayan passes safely and with high spirits.
Fluent in English, Nepali, and Hindi, Ramesh is celebrated for his humble demeanour, attentive client care, and natural ability to turn complex high-altitude challenges into safe, life-changing adventures.
